Manager of Communications – Central Electric Cooperative – Mitchell, S.D. – Seeking a manager of communications. This position coordinates all cooperative advertising, public relations, membership newsletters and social outreach including but not limited to the website, social media and community events. This position also oversees all special projects including the Operation Round-Up grant program, NRECA Youth Tour, scholarships and youth outreach. An associate’s degree/bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, marketing or related experience is required. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud is recommended. CEO – Sun River Electric Cooperative (SREC) – Fairfield, Mont. – has announced that the current chief executive officer (CEO) will be retiring Feb. 16, 2021, and that the board of trustees is seeking his successor. SREC operates in eight counties in west central Montana. The co-op has 2,800 miles of line serving over 3,200 members with 5,900 meters. The CEO manages a staff of twenty-two office and line personnel. SREC has an operating revenue of 10 to 11 million dollars annually and a total utility plant of 49 million dollars. SREC is a large summer peaking cooperative with over one thousand irrigation accounts. SREC’s headquarters is in Fairfield, Mont., with lineman outposts in Conrad and Highwood. The incoming CEO will assume leadership of a financially and operationally strong organization. Successful candidates should have a minimum of 10 years electricity utility experience, knowledge of rural electric coops, and at least five years of leadership experience in a senior management position. A bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field is preferred. Candidates must also have great communication skills, proven leadership ability, and a strong commitment to the “Cooperative Principles.” Sun River Electric offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes the NRECA pension plan, 401(k) health, dental and vision insurance, paid vacation and sick leave. RTU/Automation Technician – East River Electric – Madison, S.D. – Apprentice or Journeyman level.
